Quick tips for a social media engagement boost for small business owners.

  1. First, always keep response times quick. If you want to keep engagement going on a post or in your DMS, then respond quickly.

  2. Always use 4+ words responses. If someone comments "love your brand" and you put a heart emoji, the conversation Is instantly dead. You killed it. However, imagine if you responded with, "Thanks so much! What product do you have of ours?". This allows the client the opportunity to answer again and furthering the conversation. This keeps the post "hot".

  3. Unfollow any inactive accounts immediately. It doesn't matter the social media platform, or even in email marketing, if someone isn't viewing or opening let's move on. Always make sure to give the unsubscribe option on emails for this reason.

  4. If the platform has it, like in threads, follow hashtags related to your brand to learn about more brands, use them when they make sense and help people find you.

  5. Repost users content (UGC) and encourage it. This helps your engagement naturally.

  6. Slide into those DMs. People are not always chatty in comments but they love when a brand replies to a story.

  7. It's hard to remember to do these things and somehow we treat social media like a chore. It's a priority like any other task in your business. Schedule time to engage daily and put it on your to-do list.
