Do Not Sleep on Yelp. Honestly, don't sleep on anything that allows customers to leave good reviews and more information about you.

With Google dominating the search engines, it is easy to write Yelp off as not necessary. But Yelp reaches buyers that Google does not always capture, and it shows up in more places than you might think. We like to think Yelpers trust other Yelpers.

A little fruit for thought, if you will, Yelp users are ready to buy. People on Yelp are not casually scrolling. They are actively looking to make a decision, often the same day. Your Yelp listing does not just show up on Yelp. The platform licenses its review data to Apple Maps, Bing, Amazon's Alexa, and a wide network of directories and apps. A strong Yelp profile echoes across the internet in places you might never think to look.

Because Yelp's filtering is stricter, a 4.5-star rating there often means more to a cautious buyer than the same rating on Google. Consumers who have learned that Google reviews can be manipulated sometimes specifically cross-check Yelp to get a clearer picture. That trust is worth building.
