Why Co-Working With My Daughter Makes Me A Better Mother And Business Owner

Many of you know me as the co-founder, designer, and photographer at Mango Marketing Co., but I’m also a mama to 2 daughters.

Co-working with my daughter makes me a better mother and business owner because it gives us some fun one-on-one time together, and it shows her the value of a work ethic and the ways in which women can support ourselves and our communities. My little co-worker is a beautiful vibrant girl who lives her life in monochrome pink everything. I adore her bold personality, and while I fiercely protect her childhood 'just being a kid', her role as big sister also blends with ours as caregivers to her sister, who has Autism and needs 24/7 care. A big part of my life is juggling a team of doctors, therapists, and teachers. Parenting my daughters differently to meet each of their needs matters deeply to me and helps alleviate some of the guilt and hardships that come with being a working mom. I wanted us to have some dedicated mommy-daughter time alone, as we do not get that often with busy schedules.

She lives for a theme/aesthetic, just like her mama, and I knew Ash—Bar at Hotel Ulysses in Baltimore would make for the perfect location. We had a great time sipping out of cute cups and snacking while we worked. She journaled, colored, and watched some girly pop shows on her phone, and I got some editing + design work done while being so happy to have my daughter at my side.

Thanks for supporting us here at Mango, it’s how I support my family and continue to make all your businesses beautifully branded. 🧡
