What We Learned About Negotiating from Rachel Rodgers

We recently listened to Rachel Rodgers talk about negotiation, and it changed how we think about coming to the table to negotiate pricing or boundaries.

The biggest lesson: stop negotiating against yourself. Many business owners lower an offer before the client even pushes back. The Audible teaches you to state your price and let silence do the work. Silence has always been Alicia's strength.

Second lesson: know your number before you walk in. Have a floor and a goal, so fear doesn't decide for you in the moment. This has always been Natty's strength.

Third lesson: practice saying no out loud. It feels awkward at first, but it gets easier, and clients respect it more than you expect. This is where we will both grow.

"Pressure is not your enemy. Pressure is the proving ground. You don't get diamonds without it." - Rachel Rodgers

The biggest shift for us was realizing negotiation isn't a fight, and you're not being rude. It's a conversation where people can win together, and you get to set the terms for your own business.
