Five Things We Learned From Million Dollar Negotiations by Rachel Rodgers

We recently finished Rachel Rodgers' audiobook, Million Dollar Negotiations, and as co-founders, it changed how we talk about money in our own business. Here are five lessons that stuck with us:

  1. Know your number before you sit down. Vague expectations kill leverage. We now walk into every conversation with a clear figure in mind.

  2. Silence is a tool, not a gap to fill. We used to rush to fill quiet moments. Now we let the pause do the work.

  3. Ask for more than feels comfortable. Comfort rarely pays. Rachel's approach pushed us to stretch our asks further than we normally would.

  4. Real leverage comes from having options. Not bravado, not bluffing. Knowing our alternatives gives us the confidence to hold our ground.

  5. Every deal is still a relationship. We push hard for what we deserve while keeping the partnership intact for the long run.

These lessons are already shaping how we price, pitch, and grow as a team.
