How To Handle Customer Feedback And Turn Negatives Into Positive Experiences

Customer feedback is important to keeping your business afloat. Our audience is who pays our bills and we want them to be happy. With reviews and feedback, your business can identify areas for improvement.
Firstly, it is essential to create an open and welcoming environment that encourages customers to share their thoughts. Sometimes we have to put our personal feelings to the side. Customers should be able to leave feedback through emails, reviews, or other spaces, like Social Media.
Negative feedback, while often difficult to hear, presents each business owner with an opportunity for growth. Your first goal: Can you turn the negative review into a positive one? It's a hard pill to swallow, but oftentimes criticism is not a personal attack. Responding to negative feedback with empathy and accountability in a timely manner is the key.
If you can, take steps towards making the changes. The reason why we say "If you can" is because not all negative reviews can be changed. For example, if you own a coffee company, and you receive a complaint from a customer who says, "I don't like coffee, I hate this place," there isn't much more you can do. Trust me, comments like that happen.
Responding to a negative comment?
Address the reviewer by name and refer to specific details mentioned in their feedback.
Provide solutions or steps taken to address the issue, if applicable.
MOVE THEM TO EMAIL.
Aim to respond within 24-48 hours to show engagement and concern.
And always thank reviewers for their feedback, positive or negative.
