So you want to “make it” on social media? Great! We’re here to redefine what making it really means. In our chronically online society, it’s easy to convince ourselves that we’ve only made it if we go viral and hundreds of thousands of people see our content. As the resident marketing pros in the room, we’re here to tell you that this couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, having a smaller, more engaged audience can often be even more profitable and beneficial to your business. Here are three ways we recommend keeping in mind to create impactful social media content that will grow your community, business, and revenue.
A post that tanked is better than a post in draft
POST THE CONTENT, BABES! Even if it doesn’t do big numbers, it’s better than not posting it at all. If only 30 people saw it, that’s 30 people who wouldn’t have had you on their mind at all if you had left that post in the drafts. You never know who is watching and who saw your post without interacting with it. Your message, product, or service can’t get out there if you don’t put it out there.
Schedule your content
There’s no need to post in a panic. There are so many options to pre-schedule your social media content, and the easiest way to stay consistent and successful on socials is to pre-make and schedule posts. Set aside a block of time each month where you plan and create your content for the next month. This gives you time to create a strategy rather than just throwing up a post when you remember you haven't posted in a week and a half. Once the content is done, schedule it and move on with your life while your social media posts handle themselves.
Engage, engage, engage!
As Natty likes to say, “fuel the ego”. Engaging with people on social media can make the difference between social media results that are good vs. great. Reply to comments, connect with your target audience. Seek out people who are interested in what you offer and nurture connections with them. As nice as it would be to “set and forget” your social media, the point of building community is to create relationships, and it takes two to tango, friend. Simply schedule 15-30 mins on your working days to dive into comments and DM’s on your social media platforms and keep it simple.
