Ramit Sethi's book (I will teach you to be rich) is popular for a reason. We have read it and referenced it a few times. Here are three lessons that apply well to business owners.

1. Automate your money. Ramit Sethi encourages setting up systems so savings, bills, and investing happen without you thinking about it. For a business owner, this means automating payroll, tax savings, and retirement contributions so they don't get skipped during a busy month. This is such a great business and personal piece of advice.

2. Spend extravagantly on what you love, and cut costs mercilessly on what you don't. Instead of cutting every expense equally, decide what actually matters to you and your business, then trim everything else. Maybe that means investing in good software but skipping a fancy office.

3. Focus on the big wins, not the small stuff. Sethi argues that negotiating a raise or starting a business does more for your wealth than skipping coffee ever will. For owners, this means spending energy on pricing, sales, and new revenue instead of tiny cost cuts.

The core idea is simple. Build systems, spend on what matters, and put your energy where it actually moves the needle.
