What About The Small Accounts?

What about the small accounts? A Guest blog By Our Social Media Manager (Barbara)

We’re used to seeing big numbers on social media: success = 10k+ followers, thousands of likes, viral content! Is that right? Should we apply the same standards to all businesses? Can a business with under 1k followers on Instagram be successful?

Nowadays, success is often tied to follower count and the viral content a business has. In reality, this shouldn’t be the main focus for all small business owners. Followers and likes don’t mean money in the pocket. Viral content is forgotten the next week. What stays is the trust you build with your clients and audience. Consistency is the key to growing your social media with quality. Your loyal audience watches your content regularly, and repetition is what turns them into potential clients.

I think social media managers and marketing agencies mostly share their highest numbers and results when managing social media accounts. But what about the ones that started small?

Here I’m going to share some results of a small account that started with 17 followers: 368 accounts reached and 32 profile visits. Our main goal managing this account wasn’t to go viral or have reels with thousands of likes, but to reach the right audience.

For context, this client owns a brand that can be opened by others as a franchise. The main focus when handling this account was to attract people interested in becoming entrepreneurs and opening a branch in other states. So it can be challenging to reach a very specific audience across different states.

Our strategy was posting reels and graphics consistently to make the profile easy to understand for someone visiting for the first time. Now this account has 185 followers, 727 accounts reached, and 273 profile visits. Three-digit numbers may seem small, but this slow growth is effective for this kind of business! They opened 5+ branches in 3 months across different states, and more are coming next year.

The main goal is being achieved with patience and consistency.

Don’t be fooled by high numbers. Each business has its own individual goal, and Mango Marketing Co. values each individual need—don’t chase viral.
