When talking about content creation, one common misconception we encounter is that in order to consistently post on social media, you have to constantly create new content. We’ll forever shout from the rooftops that this is simply not true—and we’ll prove it, too!
Change the format
Have an old Reel or TikTok? Turn it into a carousel post of infographics. Take a past blog and use it as the inspiration for a new short-form video. Take old photos and throw a customer testimonial over top of them. The opportunities are endless, but book a strategy call with Natty if you need more inspiration!
Same ingredients, new look
Have you had a brand refresh lately? This makes it easy to update old posts with new visuals. Take old infographics and switch them up with new fonts, colors, or design while keeping the old info the same. Even if you haven’t had a brand refresh, you can easily make an old design new by swapping out colors and layouts. Don’t sleep on this simple tip.
Swap platforms
If you have content that you haven’t posted on your other platforms, repurpose it for use on other channels! Be sure to make small changes, if needed, that keep the content in line with the best practices for the platform you’re posting it on. That way, it has a great chance of performing well. Sometimes, you’ll find that repurposed content performs better the second time!
Why repurposing content works
Viewers need repetition! People usually need to see something at LEAST seven times before opting in. By promoting the same things in a slightly different way, you offer the novelty that our brain likes while reinforcing the information it’s already been exposed to. Repetition and consistency sell. It also takes the mental load off of you as a business owner with a long list of other tasks to work on in your business. Repurposing content helps you stay consistent so that you can reap the benefits of being present on social media without feeling like you’re glued to the screen or constantly creating content.
