How To Quickly Boost Your SEO

A quick way to boost your SEO is here! If you just launched your website or seen a shift in traffic and unsure how to kickstart your SEO, here are a few quick tips to try out. SEO (search engine optimization) is not only based on keywords (which most people focus on) but there are many other factors that play into your ranking in these searches and here are suggestions you can implement immediately.

  1. Optimize existing content and images

  2. Inbound and Outbound links

  3. Repurpose content

Optimize existing content and images:

If you’ve been posting blogs and content since you first launched, it is a good idea to go back and make sure the content is still relevant and up to date. If you wrote a blog 2 years ago, you may want to refresh it. There may be information that may have changed or images that you could update. Whether you are creating new content or updating existing content, think about how someone would search their information - what would they type in the Google search bar? Once you’ve established that, be sure to use those words several times - title, body, image naming.

Another great way to update your past content is to make sure it is easy to skim and read. If the title of your blog or video is “3 Ways to …” the reader expects to see a numbered outline post. If your content is in one huge paragraph readers are more likely to click out. Deliver the information in a direct, clear format. Using bold, underline or italics to also enhance the readers experience. This will break up information easily for the eye.

Speaking of images, people often forget that the name of their image file also plays a part in how well your website ranks with SEO. Visual content in general will not only boost traffic but it also breaks up large amounts of text, and can be a valuable asset to support the information (statistics, graphs etc.)

Inbound and Outbound Links:

Linking is another great way to boost your SEO. Inbound linking is when your content is shared by being linked from another website or platform. This shows why creating relevant and engaging content is important. When your content is highly shareable it will generate more shares in your niche and SEO will recognize that.

Outbound linking is also effective. Outbound linking is when you use other websites to source within your content. Doing this correctly will boost your credibility and improve rankings. Don’t forget to use descriptive words while linking. Never link meaningless words like “Click here” - describe what you’re linking and it will provide more value to the reader.

Linking to other blogs or content you’ve created within your website can also be helpful to easily direct readers to other relatable content. This will also boost rankings on each piece of content.

When your website is filled with content-rich, authoritative information the user is likely to continue their time on your page.

Repurpose content

This tip ties into the first one we mentioned - updating existing content. If you start to get into a lull with your content ideas, you can consider taking older pieces of content and breaking them up into smaller pieces for a different platform. For example, if you wrote a lengthy blog post 2 years ago that offered good tips and tons of details, take that blog and chop it up into snippets of information for you to create into content for Instagram or Tiktok. You should not have good information in one stop. Share the wealth to all platforms. If you are publishing blogs every week, you can repurpose the information to use as filler content to support your blogs.

When you see a specific blog post of yours is doing extremely well, take that information and create a visual for it. Whether it is a shareable image for Instagram or a full detailed Youtube video. When you see high performing content, take advantage of the boost. People clearly enjoy that information in blog form so deliver in other forms as well.
