Four ways to start SEO for your website

Search engine optimization (SEO) is an essential aspect of any online business. Please check in on our other blogs to learn so much about SEO.

Here are four ways to start SEO for your website without feeling overwhelmed:

1. Keyword Research

Keyword research is the foundation of SEO. Start by identifying the keywords and phrases that people use to search for information related to your business or niche. A great and quick way to do this is searching in google for FAQs.

2. On-page Optimization

This would involve optimizing your website's structure and content to improve its visibility and ranking on search engines. Don't have zombie pages and focus on your page speed. Make sure all your URLs are search engine friendly and are active. No dead end pages!

3. Link Building aka Back Linking

This is when you are gaining links from other websites to your website. These links show up on more google searches for their demographic and yours. These can also be used as a line of credibility. The more links = the higher your website will rank on search engines (for the most part). Remember, not every link is beneficial and nobody likes spam. Backlink brands and companies that align with your morals, values and benefits of your company.

4. Local SEO For those who have a physical store or rely on close proximity sales, local SEO can help you attract more customers around you. This makes optimizing your website for local searches. Think "beauty salon near me", "fast food near me" or "best printshop in the city". Always make sure things like google my business and your website have your business name, address, phone numbers and hours (if applicable). Make sure this information is the same on your website, as it is on google, yelp, instagram and more.

SEO is a long-term strategy that with time, effort and some patience can give you great results. Plus, often times you can see results in as little as a day! (All depending on the metrics, skills and tools you put behind it).
