Why Business Owners Need Community

ree

You know the feeling you get when you meet someone who just “gets it?” Whether it’s a shared experience, identity, or stage of life. Business owners need people like that in their lives. When you’re in the weeds of building a business, it can be hard to come up for air and find community with people who understand the ups and downs, and hopes and fears of owning a business. But it’s important, and it will help sustain you! Today, we’re talking about 3 reasons why you need community as a business owner.

Support

Having the support of people who have similar experiences to you while building a business can be life-changing. The passion we carry and the responsibility that we take on when starting a business is hard to explain to people who have never walked the path, and there is something both comforting and sustaining to connect with other people who understand. Whether you’re a solopreneur figuring it out alone or part of a business group, having like-minded support can sometimes be the difference between making it and not. The mind does funny things when we feel like we’re alone. That’s why we created our membership program, Mango Members. The community was designed to be a space where like-minded women entrepreneurs and creatives could connect and support one another. We’ve seen some beautiful business friendships start to form in Mango Members, and we hope you’ll join us soon!

Accountability

It’s not always easy to keep our business, or ourselves, on the path when life gets to “life-ing.” One of the benefits of a like-minded business community is that you have people who want to see you win and will gently hold you accountable to the goals you set out to reach. If you’ve set a goal to make $10k in sales on Black Friday weekend, don’t be surprised if one of your business besties asks you how planning is coming and how you want to go about achieving it. Sometimes, just the simple fact that someone else knows the desires you’ve put out there is enough to prevent us from backing down from the challenge or talking ourselves out of it.

Growth

Last but not least, having people that you’re in community with pushes you to grow. When you share an environment and common goals with others, it’s common to want to grow and improve for yourself, and in order to make a greater impact on your community as well. While plenty of growth happens alone, it’s so special to go through growth when there are people around to witness you in it.

No matter what your reason is for seeking it out, community enriches our lives and allows us the privilege of pouring back into others, too. As business owners, it’s so valuable to have a grounding place for people with common goals and dreams to connect and support each other through the process. We hope that Mango Members can be that for you! Interested in learning more? Check it out here
